  ABOUT

Born and raised on New York City's Upper West Side, Phoebe Zara is a singer/songwriter and classically trained mezzo soprano. Her passion for music has carried her through four years in LaGuardia High School's vocal studio and on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Music at University of Miami's Frost School of Music, where she will finish her undergraduate degree in 2023, along with minors in Italian and contemporary songwriting.

Phoebe is a vocalist who also plays piano, guitar, ukulele, and bass. She went from scribbling silly song snippets in a journal she wound up ripping apart out of embarrassment at age 8, to finding opportunities to make music in any way she can and sharing her creations with the world.

Performer

From singing in her elementary school's chorus, to starring in musicals at New York City's leading performing arts high school and performing her own music live at venues like The Bitter End, the Public Theater and Rockwood Music Hall, Phoebe is never far from the stage.

Private Instructor

Phoebe gives private lessons for beginner level ukulele, piano, guitar, and voice. Contact her below to schedule a potential lesson!

Multi-instrumentalist

Phoebe has been playing piano since the age of seven. It is the only instrument she has ever received lessons for. She taught herself ukulele at age fourteen, guitar at age sixteen, and electric bass at age nineteen.

Singer/songwriter

Phoebe started writing songs in elementary school, but stopped for years before she started taking songwriting seriously in ninth grade. After joining a new music elective in school two years later, she decided she wanted to continue her songwriting into college.
